On a blue 2 5/16 inch (5.87 cm) quatrefoil, edged in white, a red shield charged with a white fleur-de-lis shaped spearhead; a tab consisting of a blue scroll 5/8 inches (1.59 cm) in width and 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in length, edged with white and inscribed "TRUST" in white letters.
The insignia combines the insignia of the 88th Division, the parent organization, together with the great seal of the City of Trieste superimposed. The blue represents Infantry, while the red is for Artillery denoting the fact the Division Artillery of the 88th Infantry Division gave a larger number of key officers and non-commissioned officers to the unit. The arc tab not only indicates the designation of the troops, but literally spells out the primary duty of the organization.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 30 August 1949. It was rescinded on 4 April 1958.
